I usually try to communicate with my students and their parents before we start the lessons officially to get to know the child's academic needs and attention. I would also encourage setting up a Whatsapp group with student and their parents to keep the parents updated on their child's progress
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I keep myself updated with the curriculum by reading up the syllabus reports on the SEAB website as well as going through test papers and most importantly by reviewing my student's schoolwork .
As a Good Tutor
Most importantly , a good tutor should have the virtue of patience. A tutor should be able to adjust and change according to the needs of the child. Also besides guiding the child in his or her studies , a tutor should also take the responsibility to nurture the child to have a good values and hone their interpersonal skills to prepare them for the future in the workforce

    Im currently working with the MOE , therefore I can commit weekdays after 7pm and weekends after 12pm. I am willing to take up 1 - 2 hours of lesson per day or twice of week.

    I graduated with a bachelors in communication from Murdoch university and currently pursuing a career with MOE. I have 9 years of tutoring experience and also 4 years of experience in the education industry(both government and private). I have worked with children from the age 3 to 16.

    I strongly believe that every student's success lies of the hands of an teacher. If the foundation laid by the teacher is strong , nothing can ever bring the student down again and I believe I can make a difference in a student's life.

    Creative and fun teaching is the kind of approach I personally prefer as I believe its the way to a child's heart and mind , resulting to gaining their attention easily.

    Looking back at my ex students , I had students who barely could scored a 50 before being tutored by me and scoring 80 plus after which. Indeed a teacher's pride.

    For instance , my proudest moment would be when my student whom i taught since primary 3 , scored 217 for his PSLE and got into the express stream. He was someone who barely did well in school when i started of teaching him. As months and years went by , his rank in class from the 30th excelled to the top 10 and he maintained the rank thereafter.
