First is their parents that will always be there to provide them with encouragements , next is their school teachers which will be providing them with knowledge. Third will be us tutors, being there for them when they are in doubt of their own thoughts as well as their studies. While i understand that getting good grades is important for their children's future, there are other aspects of the child's development that should not be neglected and sometimes focusing on them could help their children succeed academically.

      To students, i want to let them know that studying is not just for the grades and getting into good schools. It is also about personal development (e.g. development of critical thinking, being logical in their thought process, cultivating the grit that will help them whenever they face any difficulties/hurdles in life)

                Building rapport with the parents is important by reflecting on what the child lacks in and how to best improve that weak area. Trying new methods to best suit the kid, is vital. I always check in with the parents about their parents meet session with the teachers in their school, so they I know what they expect as well.
                Keeping Up with Curriculum
                I get the latest, updated versions of the workbooks/test papers for the kid, give them homework and work through their problem areas. For English, I best believe reading, speaking and conversing is important as to strengthen the language as a whole. I also make sure I know what their school homework is, help the kid with the work they are unsure of as well.
