I start with the basics, especially for students who are weak in foundation areas eg: grammar and Comprehension. I don't believe in giving the correct answers to students or simply marking their work. I would expect them to explain why they think they've made a mistake and have them correct themselves, if they're able to. I explain why a certain word is used for a blank in cloze passages by pointing out the clues or inferences which can lead a student to come up with the right word.
I have been a writer and editor for local magazines and am currently freelance writing. At the moment, I'm teaching P5 and P6 students, Sec 1-4 students.
