I have 3-4 years of teaching experience and I am dedicated to making my students do well. I currently have 10 students, 3 JC students and the rest are secondary students.
My realistic target for my students are in the A/B range. Based on my past experiences, as long as students are willing to work together towards his/her goal, I will continue to motivate and guide them until he/she will eventually score the goal, though I must say that it is no easy path. While spending time with them, I also focus on building rapport with my students. In fact, most of my students are still in contact even after they no longer need tuition anymore.

      My past experience has been tuition for a sec2 boy who wanted to make it into triple science but wasn't getting the required results but after going through my tuition he achieved a top 5 position and successfully made it into triple science.
      He has a short attention span. However after taking my tuition his concentration improved. He said that my lessons were interesting and provided him with alot to think about at the same time resulting in him being able to focus much better
      During exams he also use the notes which I compile for him because he has little time to make his notes and my notes are better because they are precise and shorter and straight to the point which saves him alot of time when doing his revision.

      Being from one of the top schools in Singapore I have gleaned many teaching techniques from inspirational teachers in my school and my teaching techniques includes drilling students in questions which I feel are highly likely to appear in exams as well as identifying potential questions in exams.
      Being an ex tutor has also taught me to be patient to my tutees as some of them grasp concept slower than others. I will also try to approach questions from different angles if mainstream techniques do not work.
      If need be, I will also be willing to prepare notes for my students as I realise from past experience that many students especially those in sec 4 are really too busy in school to compile their own notes so I will do that for them and will make precise notes for them.
      The greatest satisfaction for any tutor is for their student to do well in exams but many a time these students may encounter problems which they do not know how to solve and I am more than willing to help them out even when not during tuition times. I am willing to go that extra mile for them just to ensure they get their desired results.
      Lastly I am also of the mindset that tuition lessons should be kept lively since it is a one to one lesson. From past experience with my teachers such lessons get dry after awhile so I always ensure that my lessons are fun as well as challenging and effective.
      For keen students who truly wish to improve their results, I will guarantee them a more-than-satisfying improvement from B/C to A & for Ds and below, I would try my utmost best to help them secure at least a B. I am interested in tutoring secondary level.
      I am currently serving NS and I am looking to give part time tuition on weekends and maybe some weekdays depending on my schedule.

            I was a receiver of the MOE Merit Bursary Awards since Secondary One (from 2006 to 2011) for being one of the top performers, achieving good results in school consistently. In fact, I was one of the top scorers for GCE O level in my secondary school.

            In these 5 years, I have tutored a number of foreign students from Myanmar, Philippines, Malaysia, etc. I enjoy teaching them Chinese and see how they have improved Chinese with their efforts. Many of them are seen to score B in PSLE, even though they used to fail in schools. At the same time, it is always fun to share some Chinese history and culture with them.

            I have also tutored a number of Normal Academic students in Maths, Science and Chinese. One of these students had even promoted to express stream. Most of them scored a C or D in PSLE Maths/ Science, but showed great improvements to A1-B4 in their secondary Maths/ Science paper.
