Rapport Building
As I am a student myself, I understand my student's mindset & mentality and hence would be able to cater to his/her needs more. i would be able to understand more from their point of view & effectively help them to the best of my abilities. I would also constantly update the parents on their child's progress & make admendments according to their requests in order to create a good relationship with both the parents and the students.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
i would constantly check back to SEAB's curriculum & look through assessment books in order to make sure that my child is learning what is required of him & make sure he understands the content thoroughly before moving on to the next. I would also familiarize myself with the child's own homework & lessons to make sure i'm on the right track
As a Good Tutor
i feel that a good tutor should be able to be flexible enough to change their way of teaching according to the child's level of ability. She also has to be able to effectively engage the student to make sure that he/she is absorbing content & understanding it. The relationship between a tutor & student has to also be based on trust & understanding so that a good rapport will be established, hence making it easier to help the child improve in his studies, as well as to love the subject more.
