Tuition/Teaching Experience: I taught A Levels Principles of Accounting in Serangoon Junior College for 4.5 years and O Levels POA at YMCA Education Centre for 6 months. Currently I am teaching POA at a private tuition centre.

Tutoring Subjects

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start immediately with no preference to location of the classes. I am able to commit until the final exam.

Rapport Building: I had always been close to my students when I was teaching at Serangoon JC. I was the teacher in charge of the Students' Council so I interact a lot with them. I enjoy working with them, listening to them and being their 'friend'. Similarly as a private tutor, I will get to know both the student and the parents to understand their needs and issues with the subject. Importantly for me there must be 2-way communications between us.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I left the teaching profession to go into the private sector and have worked in varied industries such as hospitality, travel, tourism, events.

As a trained teacher, I am familiar with the school system as well as the teaching methodologies. I still keep up with the current curriculum as well as the school system through the media.

In addition with my private sector experiences, I am able to bring in real life examples and situations into my teaching. As such the students are able to embrace the practicality of the subject especially in POA.

As a Good Tutor: 1. Always be prepared before the lessons - prepare additional notes, source for worksheets etc
2. Be patient, adaptable and responsible
3. Ensure that the student acquire the knowledge and skill for the subject
4. Motivate the student to have an interest in the subject by relating and giving real life examples
5. Get to know each student, his weaknesses, strengths etc and adapt the teaching accordingly
6. For me to keep learning and updating with new developments, technologies etc
