Would prefer if they join in one or two lessons so that the student may feel the parents support. Also, allocate the homework given to the parents so that when the students do their homework, the parent can help guide or answer their questions should they need help.

I'll just read through the textbooks and apply what I've learnt, because the concept for math will always be the same.
