Rapport Building
I believe that communication is key in building rapport with my students and their parents.
Students need to feel comfortable with their tutor before they can boldly voice their questions and concerns.
I usually have monthly (or when necessary) consultation sessions with my student's parents to keep them updated on the academic progress of their child. Consultation sessions do not have to be strict and can take the form of friendly chit-chats.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
With regard to General Paper, it is critical to keep in the know of current affairs. I make it a point to read the Straits Times daily and browse through online news sites (eg. Nytimes, BBC) to harvest information that can be helpful to my students.

3) Ability to engage and motivate students
4) Patience (To understand that each student learns at his/her own pace)
5) Proper time-management and pacing of lessons to meet test/exam dates
6) Flexibility and ability to adopt different teaching methodology to cater to the student's needs
