Tuition/Teaching Experience
I am a full time tutor with 7 years of teaching experience with both local and international students. I teach primary EMS , secondary English, Maths, Science, Biology, History, Lit, Social Studies and JC History, Lit and GP. I also teach Grade 7-10 and IB English Lit and Psych. I also teach Adult English for both conversational and writing purposes. I currently run specialized classes in Creative Writing as well. My teaching philosophy is based on the simple principle of training my students to pursue excellence rather than success, because when they are excellent in what they do, they will naturally be successful too. To facilitate this, I use a systematic topical learning approach and provide extensive notes and practice in addition to emphasis on frequent review

Commitment / Other Details
I can start immediately and can commit long term to all assignments. Most of my current students, I have been teaching for the last 4-5 years since they were in primary school.
I am able to conduct classes at the students house, but I also accommodate requests for one to one classes in my house at Tanjong Katong. I also hold group tuition classes at my place on the weekends after 12pm.
In addition to English, I speak Malay, Bahasa Indonesia as well as Hindi fluently.
Rapport Building
I provide gentle, yet firm guidance to my students to internally drive them to reach their potential. I strongly believe in inspiring them and setting realistic goals for my students to achieve. I understand that everyone is different and seek to identify the weaknesses in my students so that I can work on them and help them to progress much faster. I also ensure an open and transparent communication system with my students so that I am better able to understand their needs and concerns. I strongly believe in maintaining a trusting relationship with my students so that learning and clarification is promoted.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Due to my years of experience teaching, as well as the diverse backgrounds my students have, I am given access to a wide variety of materials that I circulate among the students I have. I believe knowledge is for sharing and learning is a cooperative effort. I make sure that I am updated with all the latest syllabus changes, as advised by MOE to ensure that I am teaching my students accurately and to the best of my abilities.
