I understand that there are many areas in the H2 mathematics syllabus that will leave many students unclear in concepts, especially since learning through lectures is a first for many. I understand this since I have just graduated not too long ago. Having excelled in the field of mathematics in my junior college and given part time tuition to a few students before, I will be able to help clear misunderstandings and brush up certain concepts that many have trouble with in the pure mathematics syllabus. Instilling a passion for mathematics into students will always be my no.1 priority.
I am serving in National Service at the moment and will only be able to grant my services during the weekends. A time slot allocated for a session would be anywhere from 1.5 - 2 hours at the market rate. I would be available from early June onwards.
Rapport Building
I believe that I have an ability to communicate with people of various ages. A connection and the ability to "clique" is a vital skill that every teacher should have as it can have a wide range of benefits. For example, if a teacher can communicate well with a student, this leads to respect for the teacher and a student would be more interested and focused in lessons. Parents can rest assure that their children are in good hands and that I will do my best to impart whatever I can to him.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I often go back to my junior college to be updated in the syllabus, notes and worksheets. My teachers is very supportive of me as they know that I aspire to be a teacher in the future after I graduate from NUS. Even during the hardships of my army curriculum, I would do math questions and solve many of them during the weekends when I am free. Math has always been my passion since secondary school.
