Commitment / Other Details
I am a Full-time tutor therefore I will be able to start ASAP and teach for long-term. I have taught students for many years.
Since I teach in the tuition centre, I also have access to study materials and I provide my students with materials such as testpapers and worksheets.
Rapport Building
I try to make the syllabus easy to understand and make learning fun and that is my major strength. I normally understand the kids' capabilities and weaknesses in the first lesson & I try to work on those areas to help the child improve further. I also make sure that the child understands what is being taught because I believe that if he or she doesn't understand, he won't be able to apply the concepts without the guidance of the teacher. I believe that a student's foundation is very important so I make the syllabus easier with the fun element added to it.
I also constantly update parents on the progress of their child.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Since I am currently teaching in a Tuition Centre, therefore, I am very familiar with the current syllabus.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor builds a good rapport with the student and understands the child's capabilites and weaknesses. A good tutor should encourage and motivate students and work on those weak areas to help the child excel in his studies.
He/She will also make the syllabus easier to understand so that students understand what they are learning.
A good tutor should also be fun and lively, especially in their teaching approach, so that students enjoy learning.
Successful tutors listen and communicate early and often with parents. He/She constantly updates the parents on the progress of their child.
Since students count on their tutors, tutors are accountable to their students and themselves. A good tutor also values his/her students and take pride in the tutoring business by showing up on time and if there is need to cancel a lesson, he/she gives his/her students sufficient notice because reliability will increase credibility.
