Tuition/Teaching Experience: I had been blessed with the opportunities to help 13 students since starting part time tutoring in 2013. I am glad to be able to help them to improve their grades by at least one grade up.

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to commit for as long as I can to help the student through their education journey.

Rapport Building: I will speak to the parents to understand where is the child's weakest area. Next, I will clarify with the student to have a better understanding of what are the topics they face difficulties in before explaining to them and ensuring they have an understanding. I would assign homework to test their understanding before moving on to cover other topics. I will also indicate in a book what are the homework assigned to the student so the parents will be able to track. Importantly, I will always feedback to the parents for example, the student has not been doing the homework or the negative behaviour shown during lesson.

Also, I will also ensure they get to practice at least 5 different school past year papers to have a taste of what other school standards are like.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will always read from the MOE website to know the latest updates.

As a Good Tutor: Having patience towards the student is key in order for the student to excel. As different students have different level of understanding of the method I adopt in explaining. Therefore, I need to always constantly find different ways to teach them in order they fully understand the topic and knowing how to tackle questions pertaining to the topic.

Also, I think that as a tutor, you got to be clear as to what you are teaching to avoid confusion for myself and for the student as well. Hence it is always important to know what topic you will be covering the next lesson so at least you know what are some of the highlights or typical type of questions of the topics that would be tested in examinations.
