I would usually bring small goodies to reward my students at the end of the lesson, as a form of achievement and encouragement. I would also share with their parents my concerns and their children's progress so we can work out our expectations.

I have 2 siblings in primary school (Lower & Upper) and I will refer to their syllabus in textbooks to be updated with what is relevant.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor has to be able to manage their students'/parents' expectations well and also be able to relate to the students so the sessions will be more fruitful.
