Commitment / Other Details
I plan to commit to my students for as long as possible, maximum being 3 years. I'll available to start immediately.
Rapport Building
I feel that constant communication with both child and parents will be essential in rapport building and understanding the child's academic progress. As a tutor, I feel that it is my responsibility to continually update the parents on the child's progress and that they too provide valuable feedback and requests on how I can manage their child and guide him/her towards academic excellence.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
As I have relatives within the same age group and also know of school teachers who are teaching kids of these ages, I'm able to keep myself updated with the current syllabuses or any changes in the education system. Apart from this, I'm able to do my own research and look for assessments and assignments that is fitting for their level/what is taught in school.
As a Good Tutor
The basic qualities of a good tutor being patient yet stern, and resilient. Kids tend to be mischievous at this age, hence as a tutor there has to be a certain boundary set. I believe I'm one who's approachable and patient. I do not agree with certain tutors who lash out on these young children as it will result in a certain trauma in them. And at times it may be frustrating when your students aren't able to grasp certain concepts that you teach, but we have to be patient and resilient and not give up on them.
