I will be able to start within 2 weeks as I need time to prepare for lesson materials as well as constructing lesson plans to ensure that tuition sessions will be effective and beneficial for him/her.
Rapport Building
I am very easy going with my peers and try to always remain positive and cheerful to bring joy to people around me. For example, nearing the A Levels examination, many of my friends were stressed out. Morale was low after receiving results below their expectations and the mood felt really tensed. This was when I felt that there was a need to build a sense of stoicism, so that everyone can feel relieved and calm amid the pressures to study and prepare themselves for A Levels. Studying is one thing, but personally, I feel that emotional support is pivotal in ensuring that one has a strong mental fortitude to stay motivated and press on in order to perform the best of their ability for their examinations. Hence, I hope that I will be able to be a tutor one can seek help from, not just to clarify doubts over examination questions, but also as a pillar of support, such as the provision of tips for balancing academics and play.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
As for JC subjects, I am familiar with the latest syllabus since I took A Levels last year. For all subjects, of course, I will look up the latest documents for the most updated syllabus from the SEAB website, and familiarise myself with textbooks used. I still have my notes with me, hence able to refer to them to refresh my memory. Occasionally, I do help my friends with questions, so I still have some idea of what is being taught in school. Nonetheless, I believe that the syllabus will not have such a drastic change if there are any, for my examination years are not far off from this year.
As a Good Tutor
I believe that a good tutor must know the subject well, such that he is able to understand and apply the concepts, as well as recognising the common challenging questions examiners like to ask, and give students a different perspective from what they have in mind, so that they will be able to trigger different thoughts to tackle challenging questions in future. With that being said, it is the duty of the tutor to ensure that basic fundamentals are instilled in students to ensure that they are competent in the subject. A good tutor will develop the student's confidence and mastery in the subject.

Apart from providing a strong foundation in academics, I believe that a good tutor should also share with the students their own experiences to inspire and motivate them so that they have the belief that they themselves can strive for excellence. Providing effective studying tips, as well as study plans to balance work and play can be helpful for the students. A good tutor should also listen to a student's problems to better understand their needs and concerns, so that strategies to help them can be more targeted.
