Qualifications: O levels Combined Science (Physics/Chemistry)-A1, Completed diploma in Applied Chemistry from Singapore Polytechnic, pursuing biomedical engineering with honours. 8 years experience as tutor, previously worked in ISS International School and supported high school(upper sec&JC) students in chemistry, physics and biology. Have strong foundation in Chemistry. Familiar with the current MOE syllabus and lab practicals. I provide simplified notes and worksheets for assessment. I relate to daily living examples to help students understand and memory key words in chemistry, it has benefitted all my students so far. I also show them videos of practical sessions to make them understand how they should prepare and conduct practical tests.
• Currently teaching Sec 2E student for 3 years since P6. Student's grade in science has improved for D to As.
• Taught sec 4E student from Jurong West Sec combined chemistry for 2 years. Grades improved from last year D to A1(in end-of-year exam 2024) for Sec 3. Prepared student for O levels in 2025.
• Taught resit private student. Grades improved from F9 in last year O levels to B3 in prelims(Aug 2025). Helped student with practical exam trainings and prepared for O level 2025.
•Taught sec 4E student chemistry from Dunearn sec for 1 year till O levels 2024. Parent choose me as a tutor after the successful grades with the sibling for O levels in 2023. Grade improved from F in CA1 to A2 in prelims. Student also won best improvement award for chemistry. Prepared him for lab practicals too. Student achieved A1 in O levels.
• Taught Sec 4E student chemistry from Hua Yi Sec for 1 year in till O levels 2023. Provided my own materials and notes. Helped with training and familiarising her with lab practical experiments and answering techniques. Her grades improved from C6 in CA1 to A1 for mid-year exam-Chemistry and eventually A2 for O levels.
•Taught a sec 4E student from Dunearn Sec for Chemistry, short-term assignment from end of September to O levels 2023. She obtained from D7 in Prelims to B3 in O levels. Helping her with basic equation writings to understand topics, lab practical and to practice past year papers. Provided her with my own notes to simplify topics and understand better.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
• Taught 1-to-1 home tuition for chemistry for Sec 4E student from Jurong west sec, taking combined science(bio/chem). Provided my own materials and have experience in teaching online lesson during circuit breaker. Grades improved from C5 to A1 for chemistry
• Taught 1-to-1 home tuition for combined science(phy/chem) for secondary 2 student for a year. Provided my own materials and notes. Grades improved from C6 to A2
• Taught 1-to-1 home tuition for tamil and science for primary 4 student for 6 months. Provided my own materials and notes. Tamil: B4 to A2 Science: C5 to B3
