Rapport Building
I have experience with younger children and their parents as I am highly involved in church as a member of the youth leadership team as well as heading the youth outreach team. My role requires me to work with both the youth and their parents to update them as well as have their support as I believe in working together to help these youths grow. Weekly or monthly updates and personal meetings are essential for this partnership.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I am updated with the primary and secondary school curriculum as I have a younger brother currently in P5 and I tutor him in my spare time. My tutees in volunteer work are in secondary schools and thus I keep in touch with the curriculum in order to better help them.
As a Good Tutor
I have had past tutoring experience as a volunteer tutor and at Pat's Learning Place, where I taught a few primary school classes english, science and math. I believe in tailoring the methods of teaching to specific tutees and that holistic learning and understanding is the key for improvement in grades. These past experiences and achievements, equip me with critical thinking, problem solving, analysis and evaluative skills to support my potential tutees in their studies. I believe I have important qualities such as patience and perseverance which may be required in order for tutees to be able to learn best from tutoring sessions.
