Tuition/Teaching Experience
New to tutoring but keen and passionate to help students who want to do well in their studies to first gain confidence in themselves and subsequently to perform to their full potential
Currently awaiting entry to University next August so I am able to commit for a year and possibly beyond.
Rapport Building
Personally I am a person who believes in having fun in learning and to engage more senses in order to maximise memory retention. I will usually contact the parent and the student beforehand to understand where are their specific areas of focus and their past experiences with learning. I will then use that information to better craft my lessons and also prepare relevant resources/notes to supplement the student's learning.
Beyond that, I understand and respect the protectiveness of the parents over their precious children and the possible stigmatisation and consequently the aversion towards male tutors. Hence I am willing to cater to requests from the parent on reasonable grounds. I will also garner feedback frequently from the student and parents alike as well as work hand in hand with the parents to optimise the learning experience for the student.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Having graduated from secondary school after the latest revision of the curriculum, the current O level curriculum is largely unchanged from what I am familiar with
As a Good Tutor
I strongly believe in punctuality and the focus of my lessons will always be the student. I will remain contactable via mobile messaging to the student in order to respond to any queries beyond lesson times.
