Tuition/Teaching Experience
5 years of experience teaching English at all levels (from Primary to JC). I had three students in 2010, 8 students in 2011 and 12 students in 2012. In 2013, I had 15 students, but was forced to give up most of them after I took on a temp full-time job in March at a bank. As it is the end of my contract and I was released from the bank, I am now going back into full-time tutoring for at least the next few years.
Teaching Methods: A systematic approach in building up students' language skills through Grammar and Vocabulary exercises and textbook lessons. Brainstorming techniques will be used to deal with Compo. Examples include SWOT analysis, Trigger Method, Mind mapping and Getting Random Input. There will also be question-by-question analysis of Compre/Summary questions.

I am an Arts (Humanities) graduate from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), having graduated in August 2009, majoring in History and Development Studies, with a minor in sociology. During my time at UNSW, I had the opportunity to be engaged in many forms of non-fiction expository writing, and am hence thoroughly familiar with the use of Business English. I would describe myself as hardworking, meticulous and friendly. I am also a team player, and enjoy working on the ground, forging relationships and impacting others positively on a personal and professional level. My asking pay is between $2300-2500 and I am available immediately. My last drawn salary is $2000. I worked previously in administrative positions at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in the College of Engineering; National Healthcare Group Polyclinics (NHGP), HQ; and BSI Bank. I am also fluent in both English and Mandarin, and am confident in my use of Microsoft Office. I also have knowledge of SAP Materials Management. I left my previous role at BSI Bank as a Tax Review Project Assistant because my contract ended. I am currently a full-time English and Piano tutor with 15 students at the start of this year (though I had to give up some students due to my short stint at BSI bank).
Keeping Up with Curriculum
My mother is a Secondary school English Teacher and is in touch with the current syllabus and she informs me about any changes to the syllabus. Besides this, I have many friends who are primary school and JC English and GP teacher whom I liaise with.
As a Good Tutor
I am highly passionate about teaching and I strongly believe in impacting my charges through my teaching. When teaching, I place an equal emphasis on academic and character development. I believe that all youth and children have latent potential in them to succeed and it is up to us as teacher and mentors to help prepare them for the world ahead.
