Tuition/Teaching Experience
Very little experience as I just graduated from Junior College. Only taught a 12 year old girl math before and she went on to fare very well in her PSLE.
I am able to start after 22 December and will be able to commit to being a tutor from then.
Rapport Building
I will first get to know the students more and teach them to love the subject, as well as sympathise with them so I know how to teach them better. As for the parents, I will do my best to report to them about the progress of my student after every lesson so they can understand their child's situation.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I will read up on the syllabus document provided by MOE occasionally and also flip through several assessment books.
As a Good Tutor
I think the most important quality of a tutor is to be adaptable. A tutor must be able to adapt to the needs and learning style of the student so that she or he can learn the best as this will not only help to heighten their interest for the subjects but also improve their results. Secondly, it is also very important to be patient and knows the syllabus well to ensure the correct things are being taught. Lastly, to be a good tutor, one must also be engaging so as to make the student more interested and keen to learn.
