Tuition Background
Full-Time
Tuition/Teaching Experience
With my Masters of Science (from NUS), after I retired early from MINDEF I have been engaged by MOE for relief teaching.

Essentially, I taught Mathematics, Science, English, and Social Studies, in Pasir Ris Secondary School, Christchurch Secondary School, and Canberra Secondary School. I also taught in Teck Whye Primary School.

Given my strength in Mathematics, Science, English, and Social Studies, I was able to teach with confidence, and with patience, especially to slow learner-students.

Furthermore, in my service as a full-time School Counselor I also taught and help @Risk students in the School.

Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start whenever the needs arise. I am able to commit all other days and times except Sunday morning.
I am fine with the locations in Singapore.

In education, I also have my Bachelor's Degree and a Masters in Ministries (from the States). Subjects include Problems in Youth, Foundations of Education, Philosophy of Life, and Music practical.

Likewise, I was also a Commissioned Army Officer in the Singapore Armed Forces,
Rapport Building
Besides teaching the School's subjects, I do interact with students during their Recess and CCA times. I find that many students felt comfortable with me being their teacher and friend.

There are other times when some parents were present for the School's Parent-Teacher Sessions in School, I would pick up quality time with them about their child's progress and worst moments.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Given the availability of a few schools to teach, I have the privilege of using and giving my students the assignments from other schools. That helps a lot.

Since I know many teachers from other schools, they were willing to give me those used assignments.

My sister has been an MOE teacher who may update me of some of the latest changes in MOE Teaching Curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor, besides being proficient in his subjects he should know how to pace the student in a way that makes learning the subject a necessity, and not a chore.

It is also very good if the tutor is discerning enough to sense that the student is also having a lot of the School's assignments and CA to complete on time.

A good Tutor should also understand that the retention time-span of any students are different, and the Primaries are also different from the Secondaries. But for high-achiever students, the Tutor can pace faster whenever you sense they are familiar with the subject.
