one year experience; teaching style depends on the student. i am usually very patient and can explain things in several ways if they are slow in catching up or if they are unengaged with the subject in question. of course, i can be strict when student continuously forget to do homework. i make sure student understand the concepts before giving homework and i will also try my best to match with what is going on in their school lessons, e.g if they are assigned a lot of school homework i will not give them anymore if they are struggling and help them with the school homework instead. My experience is mainly in lower sec math, sec 3 A and E Math and English. I can also teach com sci (phy/chem) as well as History.
Lower secondary level - English History Mathematics
Upper secondary level - A Maths E Maths English History Physics/Chem Social Studies
Commitment / Other Details
Able to start immediately, available on weekdays and weekends until end of July. After school starts in August 2015, only weeknights and weekends.
Rapport Building
I always ask how are they doing in school, what their teacher is teaching and if they are coping. For English i always try to get them engaged and interested in the language because i understand that it can be very frustrating when simply doing exercises over and over doesnt help as it is not a science.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
ask to see their textbooks/workbooks/notes and go through mistakes in their exam/test papers with them.
