Tutoring Subjects

Commitment / Other Details: Able to customise lessons to what the student wants, also able to devise a realistic revision plan for the student and effectively guide the student along.

Rapport Building: Will spend the first lesson understanding the student's learning style, how his school conducts lessons and if it is working for him. Will discuss in detail plans for the future lessons.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I regularly update my practices and notes based on the previous year's prelim papers and school notes from my tutees. Every year I also read through the updated syllabus provided by MOE and update my materials accordingly.

As a Good Tutor: Able to pitch the lesson at the correct level of difficulty. The student must not feel intimidated by having too many tough questions coming at one go, so I avoid this by building up the difficulty level: first by giving easy, basic concept-testing questions then slowly progress to the harder prelim questions which combine topics.

I will also pay attention to which specific aspects the student has trouble in when doing worksheets during class, this is so that I am able to better customise practices to fit his strengths and weaknesses.
