I enjoy the challenge of getting a student to enjoy what he/she is learning and in the process be better at it. No doubt, the rigour of the IB syllabus might prove tough for more than a few students but that's where I feel the opportunity for a tutor to help a student is, being one who has gone through the same education system a few years ago.
It is a true test of the tutor's patience when teaching a student as more often than not, the student will take quite a while to show improvement in the subject (why else would he or she apply for tuition in the first place?). That is where the tutor must exhibit patience and care for the student in order to fully carry him/her through their learning journey and to achieve their respective educational goals.
I have helped a IB Year 5 student improve his grades in Business and Math from a C to A and helped a P3 student improve his grades (EMS) from failing to Bs.
I am able to start teaching immediately and can commit to a tuition assignment for at least 2 years.
