Tuition/Teaching Experience
I am an ex MOE certified Primary School Chinese Language teacher, previously taught at a SAP Primary School in Bukit Timah, thus i am experienced with teaching Higher Chinese for Primary school students. I had taught students ranging from lower ability, to mixed ability to high ability, using different teaching methods for different students so that they will always be engaged in learning. As the school i was from is a SAP school, Chinese language is very important and thus i'm equipped with the skills to bring out the interest in Chinese language for the students. Being a Singaporean myself, I am fluent in both English and Chinese, and I understand what kind of problems our local students met with while learning Chinese, thus giving the right solution for them.

Commitment / Other Details
I am a full time tutor thus my timing is more flexible and I am able to commit for long. I am currently teaching students from K1 to Secondary 2.
I had seen students of mine improving on their attitude towards Chinese after a semester with me and parents had feedback that their children had enjoyed my lessons.
Chinese is a culture, a language, not a plain subject, thus we need to understand that it takes time to build up the interest, but I definitely have ways to assist the child to tackle exam questions.
Rapport Building
I will find out about the student's interest outside academia, and from my past experiences, i understand that many students are afraid or dislike Chinese language, thus i will tackle this problem first by injecting interesting ways of learning, to complement the usual memorization of characters and doing assessment books.
As for parents, I will keep a notebook to monitor the student's progress or through email communication to keep them informed/discuss about the student's issues.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have many ex-colleagues who are still in the teaching service and thus, i am still updated with the curriculum in schools. Also, i will be doing relief teaching in schools and I will still be as relevant as possible with the current curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
As a good tutor, the most important quality would be to fire up the learning interest of the student. In the classroom, a school teacher doesn't have the time to concentrate on each and every individual student, thus as a tutor, it will be good if he/she can boost the confidence of the student in that subject so that he/she can learn better at school.
