Tuition/Teaching Experience
I've been tutoring kids since i graduated from polytechnic two years ago, and when i enlisted for my national service, i continued doing so for passion. Besides tutoring kids in English, i volunteer weekly at a local soccer school while imparting my skills i had as a footballer. These kids range from 4 years old to 14 years old. I've been working with kids since i was 16 years old.
I am able to commit on weekdays and weekends to suit the needs of your child. It all depends if we could work out a timing that would ideally suit your child.
Rapport Building
I think the most important thing is instilling confidence in a child rather than scolding. When confidence is high, it gives the child the best learning environment as he or she would be willing to make mistakes and learn from it. Kids should be given the opportunity to speak and learn values while studying.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I've talked and met parents on a weekly basis for the past few years since i've started soccer coaching. They range from local parents to expatriates who constantly keep me updated with the school's curriculum. This would ensure that their child is not put under too much pressure and stress so that the best schedule can be worked out to get the best out of their child.
As a Good Tutor
Patience is key. Getting angry and getting distracted by what kids do while studying or playing on the field can get to any human being, but after all, we have to find a way to work around it. Kids are interesting. They have unique perspectives that can give us adults a different outlook to things in life. Being patient with a kid, and trying to find ways to get them interested in that subject, in my case, English can be a fascinating task yet challenging one. As Long as i've parents who are willing to work hand in hand with me to ensure the best can be done for their child, I"ll definitely do my best.
