Commitment / Other Details
I am relatively free on the weekends. I will try my best not to switch timings, you can be assured that 95% of the time I'll be on time.
Rapport Building
Apart from the usual CIP, I was also part of a special program class that required students to give lectures to one another. I should mention that I also have a younger sibling that I have to coach occasionally. I can relate to most people .
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would say I'm relatively good in the science and mathematics. There is no fear of me forgetting all my JC stuff because I still take courses online and read up undergrad level astrophysics and computer science. I have also taken the SAT Physics and Mathematics subject tests, and that is not a problem as well.
In the extreme case that I really do not know what something is, you can be assured that by the time the tuition begins, I would be fully prepared and educated on what it is.
As a Good Tutor
I am a great fan of educators like Carl Sagan and Richard Feynmann, and I believe in their mode of teaching -- to add wisdom and insight into ordinary knowledge. When I taught others in the past, I would strive to make them understand the subject topic and not merely "get" what I was talking about.
I participate in many activities and hobbies in my free time, and I find that this allows me to connect with all kinds of people who share similar interests with me, and I would gladly share my interests and knowledge with others.
Tuition would be fun, engaging and eye opening with me simply because I refuse to be another school for my students. I would not want to be just a refresher for whatever has been learned in school (notes exist for a reason), but I hope that through what I teach regarding the topic, students gain insight about it and related issues. I was involved in research before and I know the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to all things.
