Tuition/Teaching Experience
I was a teaching intern with MOE in 2009 and I got insights into running a classroom and teaching methods used by teachers to explain concepts to students.
I have been a student before and I truly understand the needs and difficulties faced by students. Hence when I teach I try to put myself into the student's shoes to try and cater my teaching methods to suit the student's learning style so that he or she can reap the maximum benefits from my lessons.
Rapport Building
I will seek to understand the student during the 1st few lessons to understand the student's weak areas in the subject and help them to brush on their weak areas. I am open to suggestions given by student on how he or she would like me to conducts my lessons so that they can reap maximum benefits out of my lessons and excel in their exams.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I visit the bookstores regularly to browse through textbooks and assessment books to stay relevant.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor needs to be patient and understanding. A good tutor needs to be able to build a good rapport with the student so that the student trusts the tutor and when the trust is there, the student will enjoy my lessons and look forward to my tuition sessions with them.
