Rapport Building
I am a 21 year old undergraduate who is majoring in Banking and Finance at Singapore Institute of Management after my O's level in 2014. I have a passion for creative writings and literature books as well as mathematics and finances. With my dual races of Vietnamese and Chinese, I am able to be fluent in English as my first language and a good amount of Vietnamese hence I worked at a local tutoring centre before to help with overseas students to pass the critical examination to enter government based schools in Singapore with high successful rates as I was guided and introduced after helping my relatives to enter Deyi Secondary School and Whitley Secondary School after just one try. I am familiar with primary school assignment as I took part in tutoring Mayflower/AMK/Anderson/v.v primary school students while being under the tuition centre and closely follow my fellow relatives school works. Always have a passion for younger students and expanding their capabilities in writings as well as flexible mathematic solving skills. I place a great important in efficiency and effectiveness by always being punctual and delivering the best efforts when I guide a younger student. Patience and interactiveness are my belief in building a good friendship and partnership with the families. Being a friend helps the tutoring journey more enjoyable for the students. I will look out for areas where the student lacks in and continuously improve in those areas. Informing the parents about their academic as well as their mental health!
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would follow closely with the schedule of my students and press on areas or subjects they need more help on. Always be readily available with helping them out
As a Good Tutor
Tutoring students is a great responsibility, but it can also be one of life's most rewarding experiences. However, just knowing a lot about a subject area doesn't necessarily mean you'll be a good tutor. To help students reach their potential, I have to assess each one's needs and goals individually. I reckon on knowing the materials well, be familiar with the foundation of the subjects. Relating the problems/questions to everyday issues and cheering on students when they encounter them. Encourage questions and welcome them to raise enquiries. Remind them about their potentials and unexplored abilities in the fields and provide positive feedbacks. Interpersonal relationship building and maintenance are very important as well as younger students relate more openly and easily to a familiar figure who they can seek solace and find friendship in.
