Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start any time soon. As I would be starting my university in August, lessons might have to be shifted to the weekends/ later in the night then.
Rapport Building
I believe the key in getting a student motivated for lessons/studying is being able to empathize with them. Most students dread tuition as its often perceived to be boring. This is something I aim to change in my lessons, through creating common topics like pop culture/games within the content that I am teaching, to make the lesson more interesting. In addition, I believe a good student-parents relationship helps in facilitating lessons. Thus I would often update the progress of the student with the parents every 2 weeks to ensure that the parents is well aware of how the child is coping
Keeping Up with Curriculum
My lessons are usually structured based on the SEAB guide on its assessment objective as well as content structure. I would often buy the latest textbook/guidebook as well to remain updated on the latest syllabus.
As a Good Tutor
I believe a good tutor is one who is able to break down complex concepts into concepts that are easily understand. Using examples where students can correlate for them to understand these concepts. More than just tutoring, I believe in imparting the hunger for knowledge that will ensure the student is an independent learner.
