My experience includes two years of teaching undergraduates at School of Computing, National University of Singapore. Undertaking the role of Teaching Assistant, I created and conducted weekly tutorials, covering topics from programming concepts, to the actual coding itself. I also gave consultations to undergrads needing further help.
I am also part of the overall winning team of the iCreate Mobility Challenge 2011, held by National University of Singapore. We developed a comprehensive mobile app that impressed the judges and the crowd.
Now that I have graduated, I wish to feed my passion for teaching.
I am able to commit asap and will be able to teach throughout the entire year.
As I am a freelance developer, my time is very flexible.
Rapport Building
I often encourage students throughout their learning journey. More importantly, I will adapt my teaching style according to the student's idiosyncrasies, so that the student can better absorb, understand and apply whatever knowledge he/she has gained.
I will periodically update parents on the student's performance, also giving them a detailed evaluation on the student's learning progress.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Teaching programming and technology, I constantly read blogs and feeds on the latest and more popular technology used in the industry today.
I constantly update myself on the latest trends, and where technology is leaning towards, so that my teaching material can be updated with relevant and up-to-date content.
As a Good Tutor
I tailor my materials according to the student, based on how fast he/she learns and understands the subject taught.
I am patient, taking time to explain every detail of the subject matter so that students fully understand the topic at hand.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and inspiring students to reach greater heights, using the skills learnt.
