Keeping Up with Curriculum
I always purchase the relevant textbooks to ensure that my methodology is still relevant in the current times. At the same time, I will check with the student on what is their teacher's preferred method (1) to ensure that the student are not penalised for using a different method and (2) so that they will not be needlessly confused with the different approaches taught.
As a Good Tutor
I believe that to be a good tutor, my job extends way beyond the tutoring hours. That means that I will answer my students' questions via whatsapp as soon as I can. I always try to fulfill any further academic needs of my students.
