Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start as soon as possible, and able to do this on a long term basis whenever the tutees require. Available via whatsapp for students to clear doubts immediately to learn efficiently.
Rapport Building
Very flexible and able to cater to the tutee's needs based on their learning capabilities. Being a student myself in the past, I am aware of the needs of a students and I will work with them accordingly. I am looking to help students excel. I will groom the weaknesses of a student and sharpen them in a way that they will also be confident in doing well. I do so via making worksheets with collated questions from good schools, doing revision at appropriate junctures and conducting tests to simulate school conditions as they are imperative in building a child's confidence along with recognizing their weaknesses for us to work on. I will be available to help my tutee in school homework as well.
I am able to bring forth suitable study plans and habits specially designed for the tutee. I have done so for myself and for my tutees and they are assured to work out. I teach in a very friendly environment, making the tutee comfortable in sharing their doubts and clarifications. Each student has his own learning curves and I will ensure to teach accordingly while ensuring every student can reach their goals. I believe every student has potential to score distinctions regardless of their learning pace and I will ensure to work with my tutee conscientiously to achieve that.
I set very realistic ground rules on the very first day and list down my expectations , coupled with my tutee's and their parents' goals, for the tutees. I constantly give updates on the progress of the tutee to the parents so that they are fully aware of the learning progress of their child. I will ensure their parents are well aware of my plan for their child, their weaknesses and strengths so parents know which directions to push their child in.

All in all, I am not looking to be just a tutor, but also a friend to my tutees. I will give them a comfortable learning space along with ensuring that their learning is maximised. I am concerned about both grades and learning, not solely grades. Hence, I will keep my lessons fun and engaging to keep my students passionate for their learning.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have siblings and friends who are still currently studying whom I also additionally coach time to time. I am well updated on the school's current syllabus as I also have tutees whom I have been teaching for some time. I am aware of the trends in questions, the shortcuts to tackle questions, and the hot questions for students. I drill my students in those areas. While collating papers and questions for my students and getting to tackle them, I am very well aware of the requirements of the syllabus. I also ensure to use the TYS for students and also beyond. Using my resources which are challenging, the students will easily be able to tackle the questions in TYS (O level & A level papers). I am very familiar with all the school textbooks and guide or assessment books which can be the secrets to achieving distinctions.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor should be versatile and adapt to the varying learning capabilities of his students, using different approaches and studying techniques specifically catered to enhance the student's learning. E.g. Detailed mindmaps with colour, study habits and study plans. A good tutor should motivate and inspire students to push themselves to their limits and make them realise their potential, through constant practice and hard work. A good tutor should be well prepared for lessons, and have a plan of his own, having clear expectations of the students every step of the way. He should prepare tests to gauge the students' abilities and be quick to clarify the students' doubts.
Unlike past times, questions nowadays are highly intertwined with real life settings. Hence, a good tutor ensures to not merely deliver the content, but teaches students how to interact with the content and analyse them. The latter differentiates an A student from an average student.
As a student myself, I always learnt better knowing the purpose of learning certain subjects or topics. I wish to do the same for my tutees, and show them how whatever they are learning now is useful. Students can then relate to the content better and appreciate them.
A good tutor should have a network of trustworthy and experienced tutors to keep in close touch of how to find different ways to improve the learning of students, hence I make it a point to network with other tutors.
