Tuition/Teaching Experience
I might be new to the teaching industry, but 2.5 years in the banking industry has taught me a great deal of patience and perseverance. On top of that I get a chance to spend a lot of time around kids and teens in my church and tend to be able to build a good rapport with them. I believe there is no one size fits all method of teaching as each child is different and I would strive to understand each individual child's learning needs to better come up with methods of teaching and explaining concepts.
My commitment as a tutor is a Part-Time one. However that does not mean that my heart is in each session "part-time" as I strive to give my best to each tutee to help them along with their work and hopefully be able to find innovative and clear ways of explaining things to them and making their seemingly mundane studies and work interesting where possible.
Rapport Building
Having not only lived overseas for 4 years but also being in wealth management in the banking industry for 2.5 years, I have learnt valuable communication and rapport building skills which will help with both parents and students. Also as previously mentioned, I have exposure to children between the ages 0-18 in my church and through external club activities (tennis) and have thus far not had any problems communicating with most of them and building rapport with them through understanding their characters and how they function best.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would ensure I do sufficient reading up before each tuition session should there be any changes in curriculum. Furthermore I firmly stand by my belief that if a student is able to progress further than the curriculum then they should be encouraged to expand their thought processes and question further to push their own boundaries.
