As a Good Tutor
Specialized in Chemistry. Subject Head of Chemistry since 2016. Have brought about significant improvements to the students in terms of %distinction to in combined science and chemistry. Recent graduated tutees of 2017 have all achieved distinctions in Chemistry and Science (P/C).
My teaching style is engaging, which tap on many real life examples, and I have a knack for student motivation. I have very high standards on answering techniques, which is why I teach with high clarity and place importance on the language of student answers. During lessons, I always scaffold towards higher-order thinking, which is increasingly important now given the emphasis on critical thinking.
Through the years, I have accumulated much material and resources which are constantly reviewed. Tutees would thus be able to enjoy the resources (especially for revision) I can provide where necessary.
Though I may be engaging, I'm a firm teacher. In fact, I'm serving in the discipline committee.
