Commitment / Other Details
I am able to commit for up to June 2019 on weekdays and weekends. However past June 2019, I can only commit on weekends.
Rapport Building
I will get to know the student for the first few minutes of the first lesson (what are his or her interests, how he or she is coping in school etc). During long lessons, I would give short breaks and use them to get to know the student better. If possible, at the end of a lesson, I will inform the parents on how their child is performing, if he or she is improving and his or her areas of weakness.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I will try to address any questions that the student has regarding homework, tests or examinations first. If the student has an upcoming test or examination, I will revise the topics which would be tested with him or her. During normal lessons, I will follow the SEAB syllabus closely and use school materials as well as assessment books, exam papers and TYS to teach.
As a Good Tutor
I would be patient and understanding regardless of the student's pace of learning and try to explain concepts in ways which suit the student's learning style. If the student is feeling demoralised, I would encourage him or her and find ways to motivate the student to try again. I understand that the school curriculum is stressful and I would try to find ways to accommodate the student such that he or she would feel less burdened. I am open to feedback and will try my best to work on them so that the student can have the best learning experience.
