I am currently a full-time math tutor at NTU. I have 3 years of experience in tutoring University Math, GCE A Level H1 and H2 Mathematics; GCE O Level Additional; lower secondary and upper primary mathematics.
My chief goal of teaching is increasing students' self-study capability and equipping them with most sufficient knowledge so that they are confident in solving math problems. Below are some notes of my teaching style:
- Conduct lessons by themes and prepare summary notes for every lesson.
- Help students fully understand basic concepts and knowledge first, then focus on training of analytical thinking skills to dissect, analyse and solve effectively application questions.
- Tips to solve questions fast and correctly.
- Intensive final revision before exam.
I am able to teach on any weekday afternoon and weekend whole day. I will follow students until they finish their exams.
Moreover, below are some of my achievements:
1. Gold Medal from Singapore Mathematics Society 2013.
2. Silver Medal from International Mathematics Competition 2012.
3. Dean's list in academic years 2010-2011 and 2012-2013.
4. GPA: 4.85/5.
Rapport Building
I am an easy-going person. Normally, I would like to communicate with students and their parents to understand about their circumstances and their life style. For students, once knowing their study style and life style, I will help them based on what they already have. For parents, I would prefer to listen to them not only about their children, but also their opinions about everyday life issues. I think I can always study something from both students and parents.
