Rapport Building
I am an affective mentor, having taken charge of NPCCs for over 4 cohorts. In addition, I have led drama teams to achieve gold for SYFs: all in all, I often seek not just to be able to speak to my charges, but to listen and inspire them.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I am currently in research with curriculum development in NIE. In addition, I am designing learning platforms for the NTU Technology Enhanced Learning Project. As such, I am familiar with both the MOE and University curriculums.
As a Good Tutor
A key characteristic of a good tutor is the ability to listen. The design and provision of worksheets and learning activities have to be bespoke - addressing the very unique learning needs of each student. A good tutor is also a coach - ensuring that a student develop rigour and stamina of mind in their education - guiding them to see beyond meeting requirements towards excellence and inspiration.
