Commitment / Other Details
I am committed to helping the student excel in emaths as I think with hard work, achieving distinction for emath is possible.
Rapport Building
I strongly believe in forging a good relationship with the student to build up momentum and at the same time, boost their confidence in tackling olevel mathematics. I have tutored olevel students before and I know that most of the time they are just unwilling or afraid to try and most of the time give up way too quickly. Therefore, rapport building is essential in the sense that I will be there to guide and motivate the tuttee to try harder questions with critical thinking methods to achieve the answer to the question.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Emaths syllabus has not changed much over the years, just more application questions to make the students think and not just regurgitate a standard method to fit in all questions. Being a A level graduate back in 2015 I am flexible solving high end maths questions as the A level H2 mathematics is highly demanding in the sense that it forces students to stretch way beyond content knowledge so as to make them think of different ways to approach a question. Hence, that has given me an upper hand in tutoring olevel students into the changing formats of the olevel emaths requirements.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor is one that ensures that he does not waste him time during the session and makes sure that in every session, the student learns as much as possible rather then having the tutor be marking or going through things that the student already knows. My approach is that in every session I will prepare a set of things I would cover during the session and ensure that time wastage is minimized. Furthermore, a good tutor is one that can make the student comfortable to ask any questions and not be afraid that the questions imposed my seem unnecessary or redundant. In my opinion, all questions are good questions as it truly shoes that the student Is thinking and making efforts to improve his or her academic performance.
