Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have recently started teaching 2 students, 1 Primary 2 and 1 Secondary 2. I teach mainly Mathematics and Science to both. My students have seen a jump from a C to nearing an A/ A.

Tutoring Subjects

Commitment / Other Details: I can teach on weekdays after 7pm and on weekends the whole day. I can teach for minimum 2 years as I have time to spare even if my university term starts as I will not be staying in hall.

Rapport Building: I will make sure I turn up for the lessons on time, as I believe punctuality is very important. This will set a good example for the student as well. I will also discuss the best possible rates for the parents and student, especially if they are not well to do. I do not expect a high rate as I am teaching so as to improve myself as well, especially in terms of my social and communication skills.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: To keep up with curriculum, I revise new textbooks given to me by my two other students and read through their practise papers. When I have the time, I try out some questions from practice papers as well.

As a Good Tutor: I am a 19 year old male, currently serving National Service. I have attended Canberra Primary School, Catholic High School and eventually National Junior College. For my grades, I have scored 7 A2s and 3 A1s in my O Level Examinations, 4 As and a B (General Paper) in my A Level examinations. I prefer teaching based on the student's strength and style of learning. I strongly believe in using role play in my lessons, where the students will switch roles with me and become the teacher instead to teach me what he or she has learnt in the lesson. I also prefer testing the student regularly, prompting the student to answer questions as I believe this can help him or her adapt to a stressful situation similar to the environment during an examination. In addition, I believe it is important to teach the student on ways to apply what they have learnt from me to answer questions in examinations. I may be inexperienced as I have only started teaching 2 students for half a month but I firmly believe that I have the confidence to help a student improve.
