I have had 8 months of tutoring experience. I tutored a Korean girl from International School Singapore in English, her second language in school.
My sessions were warmly received by both my tutee and her mother because I incorporate multiple media elements in my sessions with her. I have used pictures, newspaper articles, youtube videos, and even movie snippets from film adaptations of English classics. Because I believe that to truly learn language, one has to be steeped in it, I always try to use materials that are of relevance to my tutee such as the Korean War and current affairs in the Korean Peninsula.
