I gave tuition to a primary 6 female student for about 4-5 months and managed to help her improve all four subjects, especially English, from a borderline pass or fail to a high B.

Rapport Building
For me, I build rapport through understanding and respect. Every student is unique and therefore I will try my best to accommodate to their learning style so as to help them learn to their best abilities. Also, I believe that respect is a two-way street. Since I hope to gain their trust and respect, I will too offer them their due respect.
As for parents, I believe that communication is essential. Therefore, I usually would give feedbacks to parents every once in a couple of weeks to help them keep track of their child's development. Asides from that, I would also love to understand how the child is like at home, from the parents, as this helps me to better cater to their learning.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
First and foremost, as I am currently taking a Diploma in Child Psychology & Early Education, I tend to keep myself updated with the curriculum. It also helps that I have a younger sister who is currently in secondary 2, thus allowing me to easily keep up with the new syllabus.
