I have experience tutoring before. I have tutored a hard of hearing student late last year. It was a challenge but I manage to dedicate 2 hours every Saturday to go down to the Mountbatten school for the deaf for the tutoring session. I tutored a secondary 1 student in Maths and English and my student managed to improve a grade higher.
I also tutored at Geylang Methodist Primary School for a project that they had. I tutored a class of about three P2 students in English and Maths as well. I was let go as there was a dropping response of students so new tutors had to be let go of.
I am very dedicated as a student and I want my students to improve as much as they can when I am their tutor. I may be new and hope to have more experience.
Lower secondary level - English Mathematics Science
Upper secondary level - Physics/Bio
Commitment / Other Details
I can commit at least a few times a week but the days may not be fixed as I have school to attend to. I am currently studying Communications and Information Design in Republic Poly. It deals with journalism and I hope to be a journalist one day. I am very shy when I do not know somebody but I warm up to the person almost immediately. I am more comfortable in smaller groups.
I would prefer a school compound for my classes as I feel tutoring in my tutee's house or my house may be inappropriate. I am very flexible with the location as long as I don't have to travel an hour's journey. I would prefer tutoring lower Primary students in English and Maths, and lower secondary English and Maths. I am also very good at speech and should be able to help in Oral examinations.
