Tuition/Teaching Experience
Currently taking on a concurrent degree programme in NUS (Degree and Masters in Project Management) - full time student.
Not much tutoring experience but I have taught cousins of younger ages before.
I am a responsible, easy-going and a good-tempered tutor. I believe in being strict but not fierce. It is important to think from the student's perspective rather than an adult's in order to tackle the student's mindset and effectively educate them.
Primary level - Chinese English Higher Maths Mathematics
Lower secondary level - Chinese English Mathematics
Commitment / Other Details
My concurrent masters programme in NUS will only be from 7-10pm on weekdays (to cater to part time working adults who are taking masters degree).
Hence, weekdays before 7pm and weekends would be available to commit for assignment.
Rapport Building
Communication is key to fostering rapport between both the students and their parents.
Understanding their needs and concerns would be crucial and from there, different teaching style will be explore to best fit the student's needs.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
To understand the students' current curriculum, assessment books are necessary for the tutors to keep themselves updated of the latest curriculum in the cohort.
As a Good Tutor
I believe tutoring students is a big responsibility. I strive to help students reach their potential by understanding their needs and adjust my teaching style accordingly in order to achieve the best results for the students.
I also understand the importance of the connection between the student and their tutor. It is important that trust and respect is communicated because with mutual respect, better respect can be build which makes it easier for the student to learn effectively and efficiently.
