Tuition/Teaching Experience: I taught English and English Literature in a secondary school for 3.5 years until 13 September 2013. I am very familiar with the current English curriculum taught in secondary schools and have existing resources to work with. I specialized in upper secondary classes and was known to be able to teach particularly weak students well. My ex-HOD described me as a dedicated, diligent and enthusiastic teacher who has the ability to customize and deliver effective lessons for students of different needs and abilities. I left teaching earlier this year to pursue a Masters in Applied Linguistics full time at the National Institute of Education.

Tutoring Subjects

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to provide tuition services every Sunday, and on weekdays before 4.30pm. I am able to start immediately and commit to at least 1 year of tuition.

Rapport Building: I like to get to know my students as a person so I can know how to approach him or her during lessons. I am good at encouraging particularly weak students to persevere and put their best effort into their work.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I have many friends who are still in the education industry and keep abreast of new directions and/or policies from MOE.

As a Good Tutor: Good home tutors should be like any classroom teacher - dedicated, patient and persevering. He/she must believe in the learning ability of the child, no matter how weak the child may currently be.
