Tutoring Subjects

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start immediately and able to commit till my graduation in 2015. Weekends or weekdays are fine.

Rapport Building: It should depend on the age, gender and activeness of the student. If my student had a shy personality, I would use a softer approach so he/she would open up to me slowly. If the student was active and playful, I would be stern, but not fierce, to first gain respect from the student. As for parents, I would usually have a chat with them to understand their needs and the child's needs, and assure that their child would be in good hands.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will look through their textbooks and give them assignments that meet the school's standards. Occasionally, I would assign challenging questions to the students to further hone their skills in a particular subject.

As a Good Tutor: Patience and passion. As different student has a different temperament, it is important to have the patience to understand each and every student in order to have effective communication. A tutor should also have a passion for teaching, the desire to impart knowledge to the child and coach them genuinely, both academically and personally.
