Hence, communication ensures that there is a good relationship between all parties.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will always ask my student what she learned in school and if she could cope or not. If the pace is too fast, I will teach at a speed where it is not too slow nor too fast to ensure that student understands the content well.
Moreover, I will also follow the latest MOE syllabus based on student's level.

As a Good Tutor: As a good tutor, I believe adaptability is the first priority as it ensures that I am flexible and can adjust accordingly. Secondly, openness is another quality which shows that tutors are open to any questions asked by students and is able to guide them on the right path. Moreover, I also believe patience is always the key because; if the student is slow in adapting, we should be the ones who should be patient and guide them in ways they tend to understand.
In addition, I believe motivation plays another key role as we should not just go for classes and teach them the content and knowledge. Together with these qualities, motivation should also be given as it tends to help the students to be more confident and they will tend to have a keen interest to do well further.

So that the student will have a significant improvement, I always believe that both parties have to communicate to realise their common goal, and work hand in hand to achieve it. That is also the reason why I provide customised notes for the students only if they need and deserve them, on the basis that they are willing to learn (i.e. have an inquisitive mind) and work hard towards achieving better results.

During lessons, besides explaining concepts and assigning practice questions, I will spend time to prompt the student and guide him to the correct answer. In the process, I can discern the students method of thinking, and am able to correct it if there are any misconceptions. His brain will be stimulated and exercised which will allow him to grasp the concept more clearly. For example, if a student can't visualise 3D models, i'll do paper models to let him/her to visualise and get a better knowledge of how to do 3D trigonometry questions.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I left teaching only earlier this year, thus and still updated about the latest changes. Also, I have friends who are still teaching and who are able to update me of further changes.

As a Good Tutor: As a good tutor, especially a language tutor, I think it's important to get the student interested in the language itself. Only when the child is interested in the language would the child be able to excel in it and be motivated to do even better. I think it's also important that a tutor is patient and does not put the student down.
