Although I may not have any tutoring experience, but I have some teaching experience as I am currently teaching art to children ranging from primary to secondary school. I am willing to learn and try!
Upper secondary level - A Maths Art E Maths Physics/Chem
Junior college level - Economics Maths
Commitment / Other Details
Able to start in June till end July, weekdays. August onwards, might only be able to commit weekends, unless it's weekdays evening in the West (Jurong area)
Rapport Building
Able to understand students on a friendly level rather than as a strict teacher. Yet, able to establish some sort of mutual respect as well. Generally quite friendly and easy-going, although takes time to warm up to people. Good listener and hence, can provide students with a listening ear if need, or give some sort of advice or encouragement if needed.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Look through some assessment books, search for papers and syllabus online, get help from friend who's currently teaching tuition and is in touch with the syllabus.
As a Good Tutor
Patience is key. Establishing mutual respect is also important to be able to do the job well. Organised, systematic, able to communicate ideas effectively to students. Able to understand students and their needs. Able to explain basic concepts to students in a simplified manner to make it easier for them to understand.
