I respect and understand the individuality of my students and to cater to them the best, I incorporate different methodeologies to creat holistic plans. To make myself more equipped, I have gathered various certifications from British Council and Julia Gabrielle apart from my Master and Bachelor Degree. I am completely aware of theemotional needs of my students ergo my first approach remains in relationship building and thereafter the execution of lesson plan. I create save and secure teaching and studying environment that makes student naturally motivated and confidents about themselves. It not only boosts their courage but also helps students benefit from being able to draw from already existing schemata. My commitment to Education helps galvanise me to work tirelessly in the best interest of students.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Eight years of providing tuitions to local and Internationa lschool students makes me well versed with their curriculum. I specialise in Primary school English, My PSLE students have shown a remarkable progress so far. Their grades have shown a conspicous boost under my guidance.     I build rapport with students by spending time getting to know their interests and engaging them first. Then from there, I can get their attention and interest and can get them to focus. I build rapport with their parents by talking to them and understanding if there are any needs or issues that the student is facing, then partner together with their parents to help to meet the issues, and then work together to help the student to improve in that area.
    Keeping Up with Curriculum
    I keep updated with the curriculum by referring to MOE website, past year exam papers, current textbooks and workbooks, worksheets, homework given by teachers, and any other material of relevance.
    As a Good Tutor
    A good tutor should be patient, nurturing, resourceful, creative and understanding. Patience means that a tutor should not try to rush a student if the student is unable to understand a topic, or if a student is unable to finish a piece of work quickly. Nurturing means that a tutor should always take the effort to slowly guide and direct the student in the right direction or path, in order for the student to understand and master concepts. Resourceful means a tutor should be able to find materials that are useful and relevant for the student. Creative means a tutor should be able to think of innovative methods of teaching so that a student is engaged or is interested in a topic. Understanding means a tutor should be empathetic of any problems that a student faces, and be able to see from the student's perspective.

                I had to understand my students by coming down to their level. Bear with me as I explain. If I were to lift up something, I have to put my hands under it and exert an upward force. In this case, I have to start from the very basics, the very simple and move on to more complex things. You can always see it on the students faces. It's like like a father who bends down to pick up his toddler, so that he can play with the toddler, quite literally, face to face. I spent the next few years developing myself in getting students to discover for themselves ways to read, write, listen and speak better English. I had to draw on my own learning experience in Japanese and Hebrew or that. If I were my own teacher, how would I teach? I have honed myself into a good teacher for that.
                Keeping Up with Curriculum
                The most direct method is to read the Cambridge website and markers report. I still have colleagues whom I am good friends with the supply me with the latest happenings within the industry. I can also see that the requirements for the same subject has changed over the years. However, with just a little variation, English is still English.
                As a Good Tutor
                I love my profession because I see it as the most meaningful thing I can do. I had a great teacher who inspired me to become one. I find it extremely satisfying to watch the students under my care grow, both academically and in other areas. I also enjoy working with parents to find out what problems their children are facing. I believe it takes a village to raise a child and in order to do so, parents and teachers need active communication. The trust and bonding may seem to take a lot of time, but it pays off when issues are resolved and the student concerned can focus on learning. All in all, my job is not about money. I truly believe that given the right education, my students will become responsible and contributing adults in the world of tomorrow.
