Tuition/Teaching Experience
(1 year) I take my time to understand a student's learning style. I never resort to scolding a child and will always focus on strengthening the child's basics and ensure they get my fullest attention.

Rapport Building
-Students-
I like to learn about my students' interests, hobbies, and aspirations. I interact alot with my students and make sure they're having fun while learning as well! I crack jokes every once in awhile and I really enjoy listening to their life stories. I respect every student as an equal and will often reward my studentss' comments and questions with verbal praise or even some of their favourite treats once when they bring back great results! I never raise my voice at my students and scolding is never an option to me. Every child has their own way of learning.

-Parents-
I will normally come early or stay a little longer to have a chat with the parents. We would usually discuss how to further help the child improve or sometimes even have a casual chat about how I'm doing or how the child's parents are doing. Parents usually want to know how their child is doing so I will always update them with a little progress book which I always make for all my students. The parents are always happy to read the progress books.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would normally look up MOE's current syllabus and read up on it and make sure I understand what is going on. I would also search up current textbooks to see how schools are teaching children these days. I would also go to popular bookstore and read up most of the current assessment books. If I have a student, I would purchase some assessment books for them to practice. Of course, I have to check the difficulty level and the current progress of the student so I can match the assessment book to the student's ability. Usually, I would purchase one that would be slightly tougher and one that is more manageable. Lastly, I would look up past year papers of schools to see how the children are tested and that way I would be much more familiar with the current curriculum.
